The first step to start setting network - router IP address

Before you set up D-link or any kinds of router Wi-Fi network and password. You need to know how to find your router IP address.

How do you know your router IP address?

You don't have to guess every possible numbers. We do the smart way! Before that, make sure you have already connected on the Internet...

  1. You can physically move your body to check out your router device. Turn it over, you can see the label printed on the bottom with the unique information such as router IP address, user and password login details.

    However, for some reasons you can't reach the router, so what we can do? Go next ...

  2. Check your PC network.

    For Mac users (same as Windows users but use different name):

    Click "System Preferences" -> "Network" -> "Advance" -> "TCP/IP"

    you can see your router IP address there.

  3. Command the PC terminal - open your PC terminal. There have many codes on Unix System for checking out the Network IP. But you can use the fast way like this:

    ifconfig |grep inet ifconfig = shows the current network interface configuration
    |grep = search for the text inside the file
    inet(An iNet) = search the network with using IP.

    For Mac users (same as Windows users but use different name):

    click "Finder" -> "Application" -> "Utilities" -> "Terminal".

    Or, you can directly hit the terminal icon on the desktop.

Get in the router login page

Put the IP address that you found into the search bar, and then the browser will display the router user login page.
